  • Traditional Representation

If you need an attorney to assist you with a case from the beginning until completion, Roose Law Firm is available to help.

The majority of Julia’s clients hire her to represent them in this manner. Typically, a retainer is paid at the beginning of the case and Julia’s time is billed against that retainer. This is what people normally think of when they think of hiring an attorney. You are responsible for providing the information and documents that Julia will need to effectively represent you. Julia will file any necessary documents with the court. You may be required to attend court hearings as needed with Julia. You will need to attend any scheduled mediations or meetings arranged for your case.

  • Limited Scope

Limited scope representation means that you are hiring an attorney to help you with just a part of your case.

This can be used if you need an attorney to assist you in calculating child support and preparing child support guidelines. Perhaps you have not hired an attorney, but your spouse has, and you would like an attorney to review the final divorce agreement with you to ensure that you understand all the consequences of the agreement. You can hire Julia to attend your mediation with you and give you legal advice prior to reaching a final agreement. Julia can assist you in preparing and filing the documents that are required to be filed prior to the pretrial conference to assure you are in compliance with the Court’s orders. You can also hire Julia to meet with you to give you legal advice as you represent yourself in your case. This type of representation is done on an hourly basis and is paid at the time of service.

  • Mediation

The court usually requires mediation prior to presenting any issues to the judge to decide.

Prior to attending temporary hearings, contempt hearings, divorce trials, modification trials or many other types of hearings, the court will require you to attend a mediation. A mediation is where you (and your attorney) and the opposing party (and their attorney) meet with a trained mediator to try and resolve their pending issues. In light of the current issues our world is facing, mediators have embraced mediations via zoom. Zoom mediation is an efficient and convenient way to meet the requirements of the court and to attempt to resolve your case.

Julia is a trained mediator and performs many mediations in that capacity every year. Julia also attends mediations with her clients. Mediation is a wonderful way to resolve disputes, saving time, stress and money for clients.
