Adoption

Julia can assist you in completing your adoption case, including step-parent adoption, and termination of parental rights. If the child has not had parental rights terminated by DHS or a private termination action, a termination of parental rights will need to be filed before an adoption action can be completed. Oftentimes, the biological parent may be willing to consent to a termination of their parental rights. If a termination is completed this means that all child support ordered to be paid will also be stopped.

Once parental rights have been terminated an adoption can be completed. The actual adoption hearing is a joyous occasion, and the child, as well as other family members and friends, often attend the hearing to help celebrate the adoption.
